Dobet Gnahoré overwhelms lovers of both dance and music with her near-acrobatic movements and pure singing voice. This young singer comes from Abidjan (Ivory Coast). It was there she met the French guitarist Colin Laroche de Féline and since then they have worked very closely together; they have written most of the compositions themselves and Dobet Gnahoré is responsible for the lyrics. Although they have lived in Belgium for several years now, the content of their work is permeated with African roots and Pan-Africanism. This means that they encourage all African countries and Africans in the diaspora not to give up their identity and to fight for their rights. On her latest album, 'Na Afriki', she uses no fewer than seven languages.
