In the duet 'Make me yours tonight if I'm awake' the dancer and choreographer Jaime Llopis plays with the boundaries of theatre. He questions the way we look at a performance. Playfully he breaks open set ideas about the theatre experience. Indeed, the positions of the dancers and the audience are not necessarily predetermined. The presence of the audience is a consequence of that of the dancers, and vice versa. Jaime Llopis studied theatre at the Escuela Superior de arte Dramático in Valencia and dance and choreography at the European Dance Development Centre in the Netherlands. He has lived and worked in Brussels since 2003.
'Make me yours tonight if I'm awake' is an intimate performance for a small audience. Jaime Llopis shows himself to be a charismatic and talented performer who seeks direct confrontation with the audience. Literally and figuratively!
