Later in the evening we make way for jazz with a contrary slant: the American-German duo of Jeff Arnal and Dietrich Eichmann. Their entirely improvised free jazz operates on the basis of their complementarity. Arnal, a drummer, approaches improvisation as a composition, while Eichmann, a pianist, is mainly concerned with polyrhythmic complexity and unusual techniques.
