Although Kindermans' work is coloured by his boredom it is always highly imaginative and humorous. The playful man is never far away. We also see this humour and playfulness in Wannes Goetschalckx's work.
In 'Playground' at the Stuk arts centre, Kindermans and Goetschalckx played 'Spel A', a game in which the spectator himself had to discover the absurd rules of the game and in which he was allowed to intervene. At the same time it was an impressive and living construction, a constantly changing jungle of wooden beams and planks in which and with which Kindermans and Goetschalckx, supple and sweaty, played their game armed with ping pong balls and buckets.
Kindermans and Goetschalckx have now created 'Spel B' for dedonderdagen.
