Max Kamina’s video installation Weave to Wave showcases images where art history, traditional clothing, Afrofuturism, and community are celebrated. Kamina will curate these images, combining his own with those of collaborative artists, further enriching the tapestry of his artistic expression.
Kamina immersed himself in the arts, specializing in sound and theater tech in his 20s. Co-founding XAM collective, he delved into soundscaping, and innovative visual video installations. In 2021-2022, XAM pushed boundaries with water-based art, projecting 3D-like images on mist-covered surfaces using high-pressure pumps. The last project delved into the beauty of water and the perils surrounding water scarcity, intricately weaving in the profound historical connections between humanity and water. Kamina's fusion of technology and art, coupled with his diverse cultural background, defines a creative journey that breaks boundaries and celebratescultural diversity.
