This documentary reveals the missing narrative of African British designers, spotlighting their contribution to fashion. For decades, African British designers have played a vital role in shaping UK fashion. Icons like Ozwald Boateng, and Walé Adeyemi have redefined British style. While names such as Grace Wales Bonner, Martine Rose, Saul Nash, and Bianca Saunders have widespread recognition today, many artistic talents remain overlooked and underappreciated in the fashion landscape and history. The Missing Thread is part-celebration, part-political reflection, and part- tribute to the impactful role of African British designers and subcultures in shaping UK style.
