Baba Sissoko hails from an illustrious dynasty of griot musicians from Mali. His is a virtuoso on the tama (talking drums), ngoni (4-stringed lute), balafon (a kind of marimba) and kalebas (percussion), and also plays guitar and sings. He keeps the Malinese musical tradition alive but equally enjoys playing with musicians from different genres such as Habib Koité, Sting, Santana, Youssou N'Dour, Salif Keita and Aka Moon. With the men from Mediterranean Blues he dives into the thrilling world of afrobeat, funk and psychedelia.
