Near a remote Norwegian fishing village stands a magical old wooden house: the Krakeslottet. The man who lives there collects wood: marvellous pieces of scrap wood and trees eroded by the sea and washed up on the shore, wood from old houses, barns and farms, recovered after demolition. Hans Beckers, who has several times amazed the BIG BANG audience with his intriguing sound installations, visited the enchanting Krakeslottet and built klopotecs there -- rattling windmills found in north-eastern Slovenia -- using the old wood, so that each klopotec has its own character. In the 16th century, klopotecs were used in vineyards to ward off snakes and allow the grapes to ripen better. Hans is now converting them into an exciting sound installation!
