Berlin

Since 2003 Berlin has been making documentary theatre, somewhere between fiction and reality. Each project is preceded by meticulous and lengthy research. Berlin created 'Jerusalem' in two phases, in 2003 and 2013; ten years after the first filming, they revisited the holy city. Interviewees were tracked down, images superimposed, discussions repeated. What has changed the most in ten years, the city or the people?

We will be presenting this performance as part of Meeting Berlin. In the spring of 2017 the Antwerp-based company Berlin will make its festive entrance as ‘Creative Associate’ at deSingel. We will celebrate this by looking back at their early work.
