Someone at peace with himself has managed to always go with whatever takes his fancy. Others live with a different idea about love. And yet a person like that can invade your life, your bed, your wedding day and your idea of eternal fidelity. Five young actors look at Molière’s Don Juan, Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni, and Lorenzo Da Ponte’s libretto. They try to pinpoint their stance on love and to share it musically with anyone who will listen.
Through the rapid sequence of an elucidatory theatrical language, a group of young people decoding opera, nimble dressing-up sessions and misunderstandings, arias of hushed emotional moments and impressive ensembles, DESCHONECOMPANIE aims to make operas accessible to a wide audience.
"Don Juan shows how opera can really shine without the faintest trace of gold leaf on or near the stage.” - Knack Focus
