During the Young Makers Festival, Alexander Auris broadens our perception of the experience of public space. Take a seat for his short film and walk for 4.6 kilometres in someone else’s shoes. In 4.6 KM, six queer people walk a route that connects two Brussels neighbourhoods. They don’t know one another but share the city. All six of them walk the same route. Yet it is apparent from the video that they use the city differently, with their own movements, actions and behaviour. Through their eyes we experience the spaces that the route connects, including a theatre, gay district and park.
