During the Young Makers Festival, a juggler, a drummer and five robots gather on the stage of the Red Hall. Initially the juggler seems to be determining the rhythm. But who is following who? Be surprised by this idiosyncratic musical theatre. Man Strikes Back is a musical juggling performance. Masters of ceremony: five wooden triangles, a juggler and a drummer. Stijn Grupping juggles by bouncing three rubber balls from one triangle to another. Musician Frederik Meulyzer picks up the rhythm with his drums. Together they compose music and an intriguing interplay of flying rubber balls. Everything depends upon the precision of the juggler and the speed of the drummer’s reaction. The concert develops into an exciting choreography of objects, juggler and musician. But who is steering who?
