During the Young Makers Festival, ZONDERWERK steers your view of our urban environment. For good reason, the name of this duo alludes to ‘bijzonder werk’ [special work]. babel is an ambitious exercise in the translation of image into sound. Linde Carrijn and Dijf Sanders originally composed the music for the eponymous play by architect and artist Steve Salembier. Inspired by the biblical legend, Salembier sees the legendary city as an abstract, sprawling modern metropolis in a permanent state of flux. Tonight we listen to the music of ZONDERWERK with a fresh interpretation of the visual work by Salembier.
