In this dance solo, co-produced by deSingel, François Chaignaud enters the realm of ritual. He does not want to reveal anything about what you will see there. But we would like to pass on these words of his, noted down at the start of the creative process: 'I dream of this piece as an antidote to the rituals of Western theatre, to its frontality, its adherence to a particular time, its power relationships. Thanks to its intimacy and its proximity, you can enjoy its refined exuberance to the full. A little like the Theyyam rituals in Malabar. To the rhythm of enthralling Ukrainian, Philippine or Sephardic melodies, I imagine this multilingual recital as a winding sequence of dance and song.'
