The festival's closing event.
BOUGE B is joining forces with d e t h e a t e r m a k e r, the workshop for young theatre talent, so it can treat you to a highly unusual night packed with dance, performance, theatre, music, meditation, ritual and festivity. It promises to be a long night that will invite us collectively to look for a new beginning and to celebrate it together. Because this is what Momentum is all about: a new imagination, unprecedented magic, and a different experience of being together. From seven in the evening until midnight you can wander throughout the building. Your stroll will lead you to every possible nook and cranny of deSingel, upstairs, downstairs and outside. And it will lead you from intimate to playful, from light to dark, from raw to delicate, from local to international. You will follow the performers in the corridors, go in search of them yourself or bump into one by accident.
In the performers' bar, where everyone will ultimately meet up at midnight, there's a party until the early hours, with a performance by the Syrian musician and cult hero Omar Souleyman, a DJ set by the Estonian choreographer Krõõt Juurak and special acts on the dance floor. This long night was co-curated by the Mexican-Chilean choreographer Amanda Piña and co-designed by the K.A.S.K. Drama student Rosie Sommers.
19:00 > 24:00
Rosie Sommers, Emile Lagarde, Ezra Fieremans, Marieke de Zwaan and friends guide you through the night. Rosie Sommers is one of the creative minds behind this night's events.
Tuur Marinus, a choreographer trained at P.A.R.T.S., will bring the photo-books of Eadweard Muybridge to life with dance students from the Conservatoire. Such iconic series of photos as 'The Jumping Cat' and 'The Flying Pigeon' will be given physical form - movement and stillness meet.
Veza Vernandez & Christina Maria Lederhaas, performance artists from Austria, both create and demolish visible and invisible walls as an act of resistance and liberation. Belgian premiere.
Michiel Vandevelde, choreographer and dancer trained at P.A.R.T.S., plunders advertising films, video clips and Yvonne Rainier's No manifesto together with drama students from the Conservatoire to make '21st Century'.
Simon Van Schuylenbergh, a drama student at the K.A.S.K., performs a solo together with five zebras. The performance is the result of a study of space and of the relationship between man and animal.
Amanda Piña and Linda Samaraweerová dance somewhere between human and animal, friend and foe, the alien and the familiar. This performance is an extract from a new creation that will have its premiere at deSingel next season. With live music by Christian Müller.
Talitha De Decker with youngsters in a living installation behind glass. You may know De Decker from 'SNAP', a dance performance at Theater Aan Zee. In 2010 she set up the Movimento Dance School, which now has more than 250 pupils.
Magda Tothova & Paul Philipp Heinze, a Slovak artist and a German installation and sound artist, present slides and improvised soundscapes. Look forward to the beauty of plants, minerals and abstract forms, watching and listening while you sit or lie down. Belgian premiere.
Kinga Jaczewska, a choreographer trained at P.A.R.T.S., is interested in the way we experience time, movement and silence. Now, under the title 'Grey', she is showing the results of her study into continuous movement. Together with the dancers Meri Pujanpaa, Emmi Vaisanen and Jonas Vandekerckhove.
Veza Fernandez, an Austrian choreographer, is presenting an intimate ritual: 'Veza, or Patience will bring you roses'. Inspired by the work of the writer Veza Canetti. Belgian premiere.
Benjamin OpdeBeeck & Elena Doratiotto, actors with Theater Antigone, are performing 'Kafka's Aap'. Benjamin Opdebeeck is also a member of the K.A.K. actors' collective. In 'report to an academy', a former ape tells us how he became a human.
Veronika Zott & Gloria Damijan, a choreographer and a musician from Austria, present a performance in the garden with plants playing the leading part. Belgian premiere.
Orphan Fairytale and the graphic designer Gerard Leysen present a concert in a hand-made stage set. Orphan Fairytale is a solo music project by Eva Van Deuren, while Gerard Leysen is the co-founder and designer-member of the Afreux image factory.
K.A.K., or the Koekelbergse Alliantie Knutselaars, an actors' collective, takes you on a safari. It consists of sixteen theatre-makers, and frequently engages in theatre projects on location in Molenbeek/Brussels.
Simon Van Schuylenbergh & Siska Baeck dance a duet on the drive with an organ. Van Schuylenbergh is a Master student in Drama at the K.A.S.K. and Baeck is a Master student in Philosophy.
24:00 > 03:00
Omar Souleyman, a Syrian musician and cult hero, gives a concert in the garden at deSingel. Traditional Middle-Eastern music meets acid house meets contemporary performance meets ritual.
Krõõt Juurak, an Estonian choreographer, plays records. She performed a solo at the first BOUGE B and for the occasion transformed into 'the' DJ.
Gilles Polet changes into the Simurgh, a fabled creature. You may know him as a dancer with Jan Fabre, in 'Mount Olympus' and other pieces.
Yusimi Moya Rodriguez from Cuba dances a wild Oyá on the dance floor.
Would you like to take an active part? If so, you can enrol in one of the workshops.
They will take place in the week preceding the 'Momentum'.
