Ann Veronica Janssens often takes a minimalist approach to primary form, colour, light and space, playing with notions of boundlessness and transience. Unlike Conceptual Art, which distances itself from the aesthetic experience of the object, Ann Veronica Janssens stimulates the senses. Her installations are a subtle interplay of perception and imagination. In the DVD projection entitled scrubb color II, all manner of rectangular forms in different colours slide into one another. The movements accelerate and the colours change. The image never remains still, and creates a disorientating, hypnotic experience that continues to vibrate long afterwards.
