The 'Tutorials' by the dramatist and artist Kris Verdonck and the musician Aernoudt Jacobs are based on differences in logical discourse. In their performances they use a professional jargon that is so specialised and so precise that it no longer appears to mean anything. Or rather, it means a great deal, but to very few people. The unforeseen incomprehensibility of the discourse activates new forms of understanding. In Tutorial pt. IV we come to the end of a fascinating search on the borders of understanding and enigma. The craftsmanship of the two plasterers during dedonderdagen #1 gave rise to a writing board. During #2 this board acted as a setting for an intense performance and talk on infinity by Professor Jean Paul Van Bendegem. In #3 the psychoanalyst and philosopher Peter Dyck explained the Möbius strip, the 'Kleinbottle' and the 'crosscap' to us. Now we are rounding off the series with a thesis on the birth and decline of the universe, in the good company of the astrophysicist Bert De Loore, professor at the University of Brussels.
