Dear Antwerp

During the third edition of Dear Antwerp, DE SINGEL will once again be going out into the city. Together with a raft of urban partners, we present a wide variety of concerts and performances that celebrate the city and its residents. Theatre maker Thomas Verstraeten sets to work with the rich diversity of stories and perspectives in the Seefhoek. He introduces you to this lively neighbourhood through a series of performances at various locations. Choreographer Mette Ingvartsen draws inspiration from the world of skaters. She depicts an impressive skate park as a performative space on the stage of the Red Hall. Expect a whirlwind dance-skate performance in which skaters enrich the contemporary dance vocabulary with kick turns, 180s and boardslides. In the meantime, hip-hop artist Abrahamblue and some young musicians join forces to ensure that Black Flower gets the city swinging. The guitarists of Zwerm transport you on a surprising journey with music that you can only listen to if you’re in the right place at the right time. Welcome to Antwerp.
