Interdisciplinary festival about mourning and parting in music, theatre and dance

The global health crisis reminds us more than ever of our own mortality. Until recently, death, certainly in the West, was an individual ordeal. Now it is once again a collective event. The fear of death is permanently present and influences our social lives. What does the presence of death mean exactly in a society? How do composers or theatre makers deal with the end? How do you dance with the dead? During the In Memoriam festival we try to formulate an answer to these questions. We bring together artists from different cultures and disciplines around the themes of saying goodbye, death and loss. Together they imagine a different kind of mourning ritual.
