A live performance of Fauré’s Requiem with a haunting film by Mat Collishaw!
In the Christian requiem, the transition from life to death is above all a spiritual affair. It is a very different matter in the Tibetan tradition of the sky burial. There, the dead are literally surrendered to the vultures, whereby physical transience is not disguised. Visual artist Mat Collishaw made a haunting film about our relationship with death, our own humanity, rituals and connectedness to nature. Fauré’s ‘Requiem’ will be performed live by the Brussels Philharmonic and the Vlaams Radiokoor.
