This summer four young saxophonists were selected for a short but intensive project in which the music is set in a specially designed space that gives it an added theatrical value. The programme includes work by Xenakis, Reich, Glass and Sleichim. Four young bodies perspire through the pores of their saxophones. They are subject and object, they set the tone, are listened to and watched. Their story begins on the catwalk that leads them to the boxing ring one by one. This performance brings the audience face-to-face with embodied sound, hellish percussion introduces each saxophone part as a 'round' in the contest.
