The work of Katrin Deufert and Thomas Plischke, who operate under the name deufert+plischke/frankfurter küche, is a close intertwining of reflection and artistic practice. The theme that often recurs is the issue of gender. In 'Directory 2: songs of love and war', this duo, who call themselves artist twins, take autobiographical and mythical elements as their building blocks. They travel around Northern Europe in the guise of the fictional twins Europa and Sisyphus. The images, sounds, performances and workshops they present on their way provide the material for this production. What they are interested in is the place of the ego in an 'identical' relationship.
