The Tutorials by the dramatist and artist Kris Verdonck and musician Aernoudt Jacobs are based on the logical differences of discourse. For their performances they start out from a technical jargon that is so specialised and so precise that it appears to have lost all meaning. Or rather, it has a great deal of meaning but only for a small group of people. The unforeseen incomprehensibility of the discourse produces new forms of understanding. At dedonderdagen #1, audiences will see the start: two workmen are busy plastering a wall. This forms the basis for what follows and the wall is used as a writing board and stage set for an intense performance/lecture.
