The Radar Station was chosen by the public from many hundreds of artists as one of the three winners of De Nieuwe Lichting (Studio Brussel), 2020 edition. This promising band scored highly with their single 'Subtle Science', and they are due to release their first LP on 6 September. Winners of De Nieuwe Lichting not only receive professional guidance from the Antwerp concert hall Trix and airplay on Studio Brussel, but this can also be a step towards exposure abroad. This was proved barely a week after the final when the Dutch station NPO Radio 2 picked up the single 'Subtle Science' as "The promise of 2020". With their rich, interwoven synthesiser and guitar parts and layered drums, The Radar Station creates its own, unique sound: narrative, contemporary indie rock à la The War On Drugs and The National, with echoes of the eighties pop of Peter Gabriel and Daniel Lanois.
