Missa Homo Sacer. A choreography for voices and bodies. Both choral concert and ritual…
A theatrical mass: a composition for a single male body, five-voice female choir and a man on electric guitar. A musical and spatial landscape in which the wandering human searches for connection and unity, redemption and ecstasy. A choreography for voices and bodies. It is both a choral concert and a ritual: an attempt to create a refuge in which the performers invite the audience to consider belief and religion, the individual and the collective, sin, sexuality and love. Timo Tembuyser graduated in 2019 as a performer from Maastricht’s theatre academy and also trained as a singer at the conservatory in Rotterdam. For this performance, he invited singers/performers to create an honest and intimate space in which his fascination for choral music and the theatrical power of ‘the encounter’ meet. With 'Missa Homo Sacer', Timo Tembuyser presents his first Translab project for Muziektheater Transparant.
