walk on the edge /side is a collective, intimate, and sensorial large scale walk composition engaging with the inside and outside contours of a capacious building. What is the potential of a substantial crowd of individuals moving through a building in silence, at once? How will they encounter the edge and skin of the building and each other over a given duration of time?
In this participative work of art, commissioned by DE SINGEL, the audience will move through the building, a bodily engagement different from the one the building is designed for (seated to experience performance frontally). In walk on the edge /side post-digital and interdisciplinary artist David Bergé proposes an expansion of the possibilities of togetherness within and with the building - loosening and opening up the familiar spatial and physical boundaries between architecture and those who occupy it.
