During the 2005-2006 season, Blindman established four young quartets under the name Blindman Junior [4x4]: a young guard of saxophonists, singers, string players and percussionists with whom Blindman is sharing nineteen years of stage experience. With the performance 'Single Body Noise', [4x4] sax immediately won a prominent place at the Klara Festival and in dedonderdagen. [4x4] strings and [4x4] voice were incorporated into the musical theatre piece 'Intra-Muros' and [4x4] drums are working with Ivo van Hove/Toneelgroep Amsterdam on the bulky Shakespeare trilogy 'The Roman Tragedies', set to the music of Eric Sleichim, which will be at deSingel on 29th and 30th September 2007. The [4x4] quartets perform regularly in our Small Hall and form part of the blossoming deSingel arts campus. In the extension of this work process, the [4x4] Blindman Juniors will be throwing themselves into key works from contemporary quartet writing, all the time coached by experienced specialists and, of course, Blindman itself.
