Represent the visual musically, represent the musical visually… Is there any point? These are the questions you are confronted with in 'Treatise' by British avant-garde composer Cornelius Cardew (1936-1981). As a score, the musicians receive a visual spectacle of nonchalant spheres, squares and geographical lines in all formats and from all directions. A genuine masterpiece. Cardew, who once worked as a graphic designer and who also set up the legendary Scratch Orchestra and the Revolutionary Communist Party of Britain, never gave any explanation of how the symbols should be interpreted. Because each performer gives their own meaning to a symbol, this has more than once led to disagreement. Champ d'Action and '5 voor 12' will give five musicians and Joakim, a French producer from the electronic music scene the opportunity to confront this score. The concert will end with a huge electronic party.
